Process Sealed Tactile Switch (TL6100)

New Tactile Switch Is Process Sealed Against Wave Soldering Contamination
BROOKLYN PARK, MN - E-Switch has introduced the new TL6100 series of tactile switches that are process sealed. This prevents contamination of the switch contacts during wave soldering or water-wash processes involved with through-hole mounting on printed circuit boards.
The switches are ideal for computer keyboards, personal digital assistants, video games, cell phones, appliances and electronic instrumentation. Available with either a phosphor bronze dome or a stainless steel dome, the TL6100 series features a mechanical life that ranges from 400,000 to 1 million cycles.
When designing applications using the TL6100 series, a wide range of actuation forces are available for achieving the appropriate feel. Force requirements to activate the switch are available in 130, 160 and 300 grams. Actuator heights can be specified at 4.70 mm, 5.20 mm, 6.90 mm and 9.90 mm. to accommodate a wide range of physical design parameters.
The TL6100 series switches are rated at a switching power of 1 VA for silver contacts, and 0.2 VA for gold. Maximum switching voltage is 50 volts and initial contact resistance is 50m ohms @ 5 VDC. Operating temperatures range from -40C to +85C for silver contacts; and -40C to +125C for gold contacts. An earth ground terminal is available as an option.
