Circuit Breaker Now Available with Remote ON/OFF Actuation
October 16, 2007 - Mt. Prospect, IL - E-T-A Circuit Breakers is pleased to announce the availability of remote ON/OFF actuation for its award winning 8345 hydraulic-magnetic circuit breaker. The 8345, in combination with this motor-driven remote switch module, provides remote ON/OFF and reset functionality as well as overcurrent protection all in one unit. This allows operation of the circuit breaker from any location in a system, facility, or site without sacrificing the ability to manually operate the breaker if required. Service, diagnostics, load shedding and power distribution control functions can now be performed in areas that were previously unattended or inaccessible.
The remote ON/OFF capability is available in 8345 configurations up to 3 poles and current ratings of 0.1A to 125A per pole at up to 480 VAC or 110 VDC. Synchronization of the actuators through remote switching may take more than one cycle depending on the last remote input status. The addition of an optional auxiliary contact provides remote indication of circuit breaker status.
