Over 2,000 customers, from large to small, use Lumex products to enhance their "Man to Machine User Interface" and/or detect motion and near range signals. Companies like Siemens, Thompson, AT&T, Motorola and IBM are long established Lumex customers.
Lumex, Inc. is headquartered in Palatine, Illinois, where product design, manufacturing engineering, corporate quality control, North American marketing, and some product assembly are performed. Lumex has a major operation center in Chudong, Hsin Chu, Taiwan, R.O.C. for all of Asia. Lumex's manufacturing sites are located in U.S.A., Taiwan and China. Distributors cover all of the U.S., Asian, and European countries.
Lumex started operation in March of 1980. The founding team had collectively over 50 years of experience in the highly specialized opto-electronics field. Its present focus on solid state technology was established in 1986.
From the very first day of operation, Lumex was structured as a worldwide participant in order to integrate global volumes and have access to the best raw materials and equipment along with the skills required for efficient and effective manufacturing.
