VRM Series 24V Motor Reversing Relay Module
Tyco Electronics has added the VRM Series Motor Reversing Relay Module to its wide-ranging relay product-line. The new VRM module is designed to handle motor reversing in such areas as the engine compartment cover lift typically used in off-highway and construction equipment applications.
The VRM module utilizes three Tyco Electronics Mini ISO VF4 Series relays in a circuit that allows H-bridge motor reverse switching function in 24-Volts DC automotive power systems. The VRM module is fully encapsulated to withstand severe environmental conditions.
The connections are made through a six-lead cable assembly and the module functions as a standard high-side switched H-bridge relay. The patented control circuit minimizes the possibility of arc-over between B+ and ground in the relay contacts, which is a typical problem in high voltage motor reversing circuits. The standard versions are designed for 24-Volts DC automotive systems; the standard unit is rated for 150A make, 40A break @ 28-Volts DC, 0.5mH. Higher voltage units can be offered for custom applications.
