HARRISBURG, PA - October 1, 2003 -- Tyco Electronics, a business segment of Tyco International Ltd., has broadened its capability in high-performance relay products by acquiring Magnecraft & Struthers-Dunn's medium-current range of Mil-Spec relays. These products, for 5- to 25-ampere applications, find use in military and aerospace applications for secondary power distribution in aircraft, tanks and ships. The line complements Tyco Electronics' other high-performance relay offerings, which include CII brand products for up to 5 ampere use, and HARTMAN brand high-current contactors and relays for 25- to 2,000 ampere applications.
"These product lines fit extremely well with our existing CII and HARTMAN lines, allowing us to offer our aerospace and military customers a complete range of high-performance relays," said Jack Voelmle, Americas Vice President Sales and Marketing for Tyco Electronics' Global Industrial and Commercial business unit. "We will quickly integrate the new products into our line, while retaining their existing part numbers, to better service our customers."
