Space Saving New AGQ 'Green' Relay Compact Flat Body Signal Relay Meeting Bellcore 2,500V

New Providence, NJ (May, 1999) - Aromat Corporation introduces the ultra compact NAIS Brand* AGQ flat body signal relay, the flat version of Aromat's recently introduced ultra compact AGN relay, the industry's smallest 2 Form C signal relay capable of meeting Bellcore's surge requirement of 2,500V between contact and coil.

The low height of the AGQ relay (5.4mm in SMD type) allows mounting with a high-speed chip mounter.

Measuring a compact 10.6mm (L) x 7.2mm (W) x 5.2mm Height (in standard PC board type), the AGQ relay switches 1A at 30VDC and features outstanding surge resistance: 1,500V surge withstand between open contacts (FCC part 68); and 2,500V surge withstand between contact and coil (Bellcore). The 2 Form C relay also features 140mW nominal operating power and outstanding vibration and shock resistance.

Due to a highly efficient magnetic circuit design, leakage flux is reduced and changes in electrical characteristics from components being mounted close together are minimized. This means a packaging density higher than ever before.

Applications for the AGQ relay include: telephone exchange, transmission equipment; communications devices; measurement devices; handheld and portable products; home appliances and audio/visual equipment.

Aromat was the first to introduce the AGN/ AGQ style and their terminal layout will become the new global standard in the industry.
