High Performance RF / Microwave Relays for High Frequency Applications

New Providence, NJ - 11/99: Aromat introduces three new types of NAIS Brand RF / Microwave relays for applications using high frequency signals such as cellular and satellite communications.

The cost competitive RD Coaxial relay (SPDT) provides stable RF performance with long life. It has a range up to 26.5GHz, with power consumption of only 700mW. Insertion loss is at 0.5dB at 18GHz and high isolation of 60dB at 18 GHz. V.S.W.R. is 1.5 max. The 1 Form C RD relay is available in latching, fail safe and TTL drive latching type with self cut-off circuit, in 12 and 24VDC. Typical applications are satellite communications up/down converters, test equipment, PCS equipment, VXI bus test equipment, Antenna top amplifiers / redundancy, and LMDS.

The RX small microwave relay has excellent high frequency characteristics (300KHz - 2.5GHz, Impedance 50 ohms.), and offers a low Insertion loss (0.2dB or less), and high Isolation of 60dB or more. In addition, this 1 Form C, PCB mount relay features V.S.W.R. of 1.2dB or less and 20.8dB or more Return loss. The RX measures 20.5mm(L) x 12.4mm(W) x 9.4mm(H) and has nominal operating power of 200mW. Typical applications are HFC systems, PCS, test equipment, LAN equipment, VXI bus test equipment, and cable modems.

Surface mountable, ultra-small RA relays are used in LAN systems, ADSL, Cable Modems, PCS, and Wireless Local Loop applications. They feature a metal cover for grounding. Frequency range for the RA is up to 1GHz, Impedance 50 ohms, Insertion loss of 0.3dB or less, Isolation min. 20dB, V.S.W.R. 1.2dB or less and Return loss 20.8dB or more.
