Millenium II

Crouzet launches the first range of PLCs with integrated "application-specific functions"

Crouzet's Millenium II is the first range of PLCs with integrated "application-specific functions", i.e. pre-programmed applications or application subassemblies. Millenium II is also the only PLC on the market able to combine ease of intuitive programming using function blocks with the security offered by Sequential Function Chart (SFC) language. Finally, the offer comprises a real software workshop. The interactive CD-ROM supplied with Millenium II contains a tutorial, an application library and datasheets.

Simply enter the parameters

The application-specific functions of Millenium II enable control systems which previously required hours of programming to be commissioned simply by entering the application parameters. The library contains application-specific functions such as Circular Pump Changeover together with multi-application-specific functions such as the Cam Programmer function, the Data Archive function, the Clock function (with modifiable parameters) and, of course, Calculation functions.

Users are provided with 128 function blocks to set up their programs. The application and the supervisor can be simulated. Sequential programming complements intuitive programming in complex applications. On-line help is available.

Three major areas of application

The application-specific function library will continue to be developed year on year, as Crouzet is targeting three main areas of application.

Industrial machines : Millenium II can prove its worth in terms of ease of setup not only in small industrial machines but also in the subassemblies of the large modular machines which are becoming increasingly popular.

Building automation: Millenium II reduces setup time and facilitates control tasks in HVAC, lighting, pumps, access control, etc.

Furnaces and drying ovens: Millenium II's ability to manage heating cycles makes it suitable for a wide range of applications in this field.

A complete range, even including "bare board" versions for system integrators

The second generation of Crouzet PLCs, which will be launched in January 2002, makes its presence felt with a range of seven models with 8 inputs/4 outputs up to 12 inputs/8 outputs (relay or solid state). The high end range includes extension modules, which can be used to double the number of inputs/outputs, as well as communication modules.

Millenium II is also available in versions with no screen or parameter entry buttons and in bare board versions for system integrators, who can use them to test prototypes with a standard housing before integrating preprogrammed bare Millenium II boards into production.
