Guardian Electric Manufacturing introduces “High-Force”, High-Efficiency Model 16 Laminate AC Solenoids.

Woodstock, IL - Guardian Electric Manufacturing introduces the “High-Force”Model 16 family of Laminate AC Solenoids that combine high force and highefficiency in a small package.

This Solenoid delivers 25% to 50% more pulling power than a conventional AC Solenoids in a smaller, lighter package, all at the same power consumption.

The “High-Force” Model 16 family of Laminate AC Solenoids can be ordered inthe standard “pull-type” or optional “push-type” configurations. The magneticcoil is overmolded for enhanced dust and moisture protection, extending the lifeof the solenoid.

The “High-Force” Model 16 family consists of Intermittent and Continuous Duty Modelsto accomodate your application requirements. Intermittent Duty units excel at movingup to 112 ounces for infrequent applications. Continous Duty unit can move up to 68ounces, and are designed to be energized all the time, if neccesary.

By combining the enhanced magnetics of laminates steel plates with two copper shad-ing rings, the “High-Force” Model 16 family delivers the benefits of much larger ACsolenoids in a smaller, more efficient package.

With the fully-encapsulated coil design, the “High-Force” Model 16 family has bettercoil protection against dust and water intrusion than conventional AC Solenoids. Thehard polymer overmold prevents inadvertent damage when compared to taped-magnetic-coils, damage that can render the conventional AC solenoid useless.

Rated stroke vs. force for the “High-Force” Model 16 family ranges from 68 ounces at0.125” to 8 ounces at 1” (Continuous Duty), and 112 ounces at 0.125” to 8 ounces at1” (Intermittent Duty). Both Continuous and Intermittent Duty versions weigh 9 ounces.

Other features include:

  • 120 VAC or 240 VAC standard; Custom Voltages available.
  • Custom Plungers available to match your requirements.
  • 8-hole mounting pattern increases flexibility - you choose the mounting patternthat fits your application and space constraints.
  • When the plunger is seated, the current draw drops down to 170mA(600mAforIntermittent Duty), and the Model 16 family of Laminate Solenoids has a HoldingForce of 70 ounces (150 ounces for Intermittent Duty).
  • Optional Push-Type units available, with 1/8” diameter stainless steel push rod,13/16” long.
  • Recognized under the Component Recognition Program of UnderwritersLaboratories, Inc.
