Guardian Electric Manufacturing Presents “LT” Long-Life Tubular DC and AC Solenoids.

Woodstock, IL - Guardian Electric Manufacturing presents our unique “LT” Long-Life Tubular DC and AC Solenoids that combine durability, exceptional perform-ance, and 10 times the life expectancy of normal tubular solenoids.

Rated for a minimum of 10 Million actuations, the LT Series offers unparalleled durability and endurance in demanding applications.

The “LT” Solenoids endure thanks to three built-in features - Teflon Coated Plungers, a Stainless Steel plunger sleeve, and Anti-Bottoming features that absorb all shock forces that eventually destroy normal tubular solenoids.

The “LT” family of Tubular Solenoids can be specified as DC Voltage models, with sizes ranging from the LT3.5x9 up through the LT12x19.

Teflon Coated Plungers

Compared to standard “Nickel Plating” found on normal solenoids, Teflon has substantially less friction. This enhances the performance of the plunger when subjected to side-loading forces and invasive grit or grime.

Stainless Steel Plunger Sleeve

A Stainless Steel Sleeve replaced the traditional phenolic sleeve. When combined with the friction-reducing qualities of Teflon on the Plunger, the Sleeve increases life expectancy by decreasing damage caused by side-loading forces, random dust and particulates, and endures better than standard phenolic in demanding applications.

Anti-Bottoming Features

The most important addition, Anti-Bottoming Features eliminate the destructive shock forces caused in normal tubular solenoids when the plunger impacts the plug on every stroke. The “plunger stop” is moved to the front of the plunger where it seats on the sturdy end plate/bushing assembly Guardian’s unique design uses a rubber washer to absorb and cushion deforming forces, a stainless steel washer for strength, and a “C” ring retainer to hold it all in position. By spreading the destructive shock forces over the face of the end plate/bushing, the solenoid is far better prepared to absorb and disperse the impact force. In addition, the plunger is prevented from contacting the plug at the base of the solenoid. This built in “Air Gap” is miniscule enough not to compromise the magnetic circuit, yet is large enough to ensure that no destructive shock forces are transmitted to the plug and base plate.

Other features include:

  • 6, 12, or 24 VDC standard; Custom Voltages available.
  • Custom Plungers available to match your requirements.
  • A Threaded Bushing simplifies installation (lock washer and nut provided). Mounting Brackets also included with each solenoid.
