4 Pin IEEE 1394 - New From Kycon
San Jose, CA - The new 4pin IEEE 1394 connector from Kycon can save PCB space up to 40% compared to the standard 6pin IEEE 1394 connector. It is available as through-hole and SMT and operates at speeds up to 400 Mbps. The new and smaller IEEE 1394 connector from Kycon is an ideal solution as high-speed interface between computers, notebooks and consumer electronics such as digital cameras, digital video recorders and PDA's. The through-hole connector, which is available in versions for use with 0.8mm and 1.6mm thick PC boards, is made of black PBT thermoplastic and features indented metal pegs for improved PCB retention. The SMT connector is made of black PA6T high temperature plastic and has enlarged solder tabs, also for improved PCB retention. Both styles are shielded to control EMI/RFI and have gold plated contacts in mating area and tin/lead on tails. Kycon's new 4 pin connector meets the standard IEEE 1394 specifications.
