TINY, SEALED, SURFACE MTG. ROCKER SWITCHES PROVIDE HIGH 'TEAR OFF' RESISTANCE

APEM's TR SMT Series rocker switches have an operating force off approximately 0.56 lbs., and will resist printed circuit board 'tear-off' loads up to approx. 38 lbs., thereby assuring maximum integrity to your application. Optional positioning pins are also offered for additional mechanical integrity, as well as to ensure proper orientation during assembly. TR SMTs are totally sealed to withstand infrared, vapor phase and infrared convection reflow soldering, and are washable with solvents or water and detergent.

These tiny switches, with a body measuring only .372" long x .318" wide x .218" high from the printed cir-cuit board surface are ideal for miniaturized applications where space is limited.

Both 2 and 3 position single pole switches are offered in 5 electrical configurations with momentary and maintained actions. Ratings are 0.4 VA at 20 V max. (AC or DC), with an initial contact resistance of 20 milliohms max and electrical life up to 60,000 cycles minimum. All models also feature 10KV static resistance.

All TR SMT models are compatible with automatic placement equipment and are available on tape and reel for large volume applications. The colorful rocker actuators are packaged separately and come in a wide choice of cosmetic colors. They securely press fit onto the switch after soldering and cleaning. A .021" gap between the p.c. board and switch body as well as outward turned 'gull wing' style terminals are incorporated to permit ease of visual inspection of solder joints, both after soldering and cleaning.
