TINY, SEALED, SURFACE MOUNTING DIP SWITCHES SOLVE FIT PROBLEMS

APEM's DHS series tiny surface mounting DIP switches are ideal for those applications where a standard size DIP switch will not fit, but equivalent ratings are required. The DHS models are half as big as a standard size DIP, with their terminal pitch reduced down from .100" to .050", and other package dimensions similarly reduced. DHS contact ratings remain the same - 100 milliamps at 6 VDC (switching).

The commonly specified 8 position model, DHS8S measures only .468" long by .244" wide and projects a mere .087" from the surface of the printed circuit board. The 4 position model measures only .268" long, by comparison, while the other dimensions are common. The complete line consists of 4, 6, 8 and 10 position models.

Supplied in tape and reel packaging, the DHS units are auto-insertable, reflow solderable and process compatible with their standard polyimide tape seal. For added reliability, APEM employs an innovative self-cleaning twin point contact design.

DHS models have an operating force of 400 grams max. and are easily actuated using a pencil type tool. Yellow actuators against a black body color enable easy selection of positions. Switches have a positive detent that meets the shock and vibration requirements of MIL-STD-202F. Materials include epoxy sealed gold plated terminals in a black PPS body and Polyamide actuators. All plastic materials are UL94V-0 rated for improved temperature resistance.
