ASI Inductive Proximity Sensors - Metal Face & Weld Field Immune

Pushbutton Switches and Pilot Lights

ASI Inductive Proximity Metal Face and Weld Field Immune sensors are IP67 protection designed to withstand harsh rugged conditions where abrasive media or aggressive cleansers and solvents are used. These sensors are widely used in automatic machines, packaging lines, transportation lines, automatic warehouses and automotive industries. There are no moving parts, operate independent of the color of the object to detect and have no dead zone. They are designed to detect metal objects and have a low operating distance. Both the Metal Face and Weld Field Immune housings are stainless steel. The Metal Face is Stainless Steel and the Weld Field Immune face is Teflon

The Metal Face Inductive Proximity sensor creates an electromagnetic field around itself. When a metal object the crosses its path an eddy current is created that dampens the electromagnetic field. This effect trigger's the sensor's output. Since a current in the target is needed for detection, inductive proximity sensors are uniquely suited for detection of all types of metals. The Weld Field Immune Inductive Proximity sensor are ideal for welding environments and other applications where large magnetic fields are present like in electric welding and inductive ovens. They are rated for reliable operation near the current line carrying 20,000 amps. There are four models available for each sensor type. The diameter of the sensing face is 12 or 18 mm. Shielded flushed mounting provides for closer sensing distance where the unshielded non-flushed mounting provides almost doubles the nominal switching distance.
