In order to satisfy the White Goods industry's demand for cost savings and connector consolidation, Cherry Corporation has expanded its market-proven D4 Series switch line to include a new RAST 2.5mm connection system. The D4 miniature switch enables the consolidation of the RAST 2.5mm connection system preferred by appliance manufacturers. This system includes a cable harness with standardized RAST 2.5mm plugs.

All D4 Series miniature switches are available with either Gold Crosspoint or silver-alloy contacts, with input loads from 100mA to a max. 3A at 250 VAC. Gold Crosspoint models are ideal for control circuit applications. Ratings of up to 6A, 250 VAC are possible on request. Cherry D4 switches also feature a light initial operating force of 15cN, resulting in high switch hysteresis reliability.

The D4 switches with RAST 2.5mm are approved by ENEC and UL and are RoHS-compliant. All the materials used to construct the switch are heat and fire resistant and conform to the strict requirements of the domestic appliance standard IEC 60335-1.
