CHERRY'S NEW SOLID STATE SWITCH SURVIVES 10 MILLION OPERATIONS

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WI - The new DS Series Solid State Switch from Cherry Electrical Products uses Hall effect technology to achieve an operating life far beyond that of an ordinary switch. The DS Series is designed to fit into the space of a standard miniature snap-action switch, such as the Cherry D4 Series, but the actuating button moves an integrated magnet past a Hall effect IC, causing an output change.

The DS Series is ideal for applications requiring long life, including joystick sensing, pedal position sensing, and lid/door interlock on a variety of machines. It's available with a button actuator or with a variety of stainless steel actuating levers. Alternative actuator positions allow the user to select from a broad range of operating forces and travel distances, depending on the application.

Cherry has successfully tested the DS Series to 10 million operations at its in-house test lab. The DS Series is designed to be used with a supply voltage of 4.5vdc to 24vdc and a maximum supply current of 15mA. It is equipped with a sinking output and includes an integrated connector that is designed to mate to AMP connector 10224-1, or equivalent.
