Cherry's New DZ Series Switches Offer Positive Break Action
Cherry Electrical Products' new DZ Series sub-miniature switch features a Positive Break Action contact system specifically designed for applications with inductive loads, including automatic sun blinds, drives for adjustable beds and armchairs used in medical facilities, drives for automatic doors and gates, and limit switches for industrial automation and material handling equipment. The DZ Series switch features a notched actuator which is used to operate the internal positive break lever when the contact is lightly welded and the operating force is insufficient to open the contact. The construction of DZ enables it to switch high inductive loads of 3 amps at 250VAC for 50,000 operations on the NC contact. The mechanical life of the switch is specified to 1,000,000 operations. It is complaint to EN 60335-1 for resistance to heat and fire and is approved to ENEC and UL.
DZ Series switches also feature cadmium-free contact material according to the RohS directive for European and U.S. markets. The DZ Series switch has a contact resistance of less than 100mW between 100mA/10VDC. It has an operating force of 220 cN (max), with a reset force of 60cN (min.). Its temperature rating is -20°C to 85°C.
