Cherry Receives Patent on Breakthrough Angular Position Sensor
Cherry's new "ILAPS" AN101101 sensor uses a patented magnet/sensor relationship to achieve linearity that could previously be achieved only with complex magnetic or electrical circuits. This means that it can offer the performance advantages of non-contacting sensors while matching the economy of traditional potentiometric rotary sensors. Not only that, but with IP67 sealed electronics, the sensor is ready for exposure to your most abusive environments. With full cycle life of over 10 million operations and immunity to dither, the ILAPS sensor represents a real advance in price/performance ratio. Common applications include pedal position sensing, gear selection and joystick position sensing. The AN101101 is available through Cherry distributors and is in stock at NewarkInOne and Mouser Electronics.
